Sixth Form Recruitment – more visits by BWS senior staff to potential feeder schools this week, all well worthwhile and generating significant levels of interest. The first BWS Sixth Form Open Afternoon was astonishing in terms of attendance compared to previous years, as there were well in excess of 100 visitors of whom probably 75% were girls. They had tours with BWS boys and talks, and we hope to see them again for our main Open Evenings in November. All very exciting.

Website – the new website is almost ready for launch, as over 90% of the material has been migrated across. To get a flavour of what it will look like have a look at the Sixth Form Open Event posting pinned on twitter

Sport – Sadly the 1st XV came a cropper against Canford in the NatWest Cup last week – they will now move to the Plate competition. The U15XV easily won against Hampshire Collegiate School in their cup match however.

HMC – I will be travelling to London for the AGM Monday-Wednesday this week; foremost on the agenda will be consternation at the latest pronouncements from the Labour Party Conference, but hopefully there will also be some useful sessions focused on issues of mutual interest, and networking as usual…
