Bishop John Wordsworth founded Bishop Wordsworths' School 130 years ago this month (January). Whilst the current school was being built for him he used his own house (The Bishops's Palace, currently The Cathedral School) as a temporary teaching venue.
Now there will be a Cathedral service to mark the 130th anniversary of the founding of the school by Bishop John Wordsworth in January 1890.
The preacher is The Right Reverend Nicholas Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury.
Everyone with an interest in BWS is welcome and warmly invited to attend the service.
Photograph by Wordsworthian, Tony Oliver, (BWS 1966-73). Retired from The Fire Service and now a professional photographer and competition judge (aropics.com).
