A tradition of benefaction and inclusivity has supported Bishop Wordsworth Grammar School since 1890, each generation benefitting from the generosity of those who have gone before. Our mission is to ensure that Bishop's offers the best educational experience we possibly can, whilst making it as widely accessible as possible.

Our major fundraising campaign for this year is PITCH IN which aims to raise £100,000 (£200,000 stretch target) for a new sports multi-use games area (MUGA). We also welcome donations towards the Bishop Wordsworth’s Trust which creates crucial annual revenue, enabling us to enhance the school's educational provision and extracurricular activities that are not possible from the school’s current income.

Our PITCH IN campaign has been launched to raise funds to build a fully enclosed, multi-use games area (MUGA) at the Britford Lane sports ground, which will offer a significant increase in facilities provision. The MUGA will include 5 retractable cricket lanes, a netball court, a tennis court, a 5-a-side football pitch, and space for team sports skills training.
